  • What’s a day in the life like for a travel content creator? Have you always worked in this industry?

Every day looks a little different: one moment I’m on a plane editing a video; the next, I’m working from home or answering emails from a café. Glamorous? Sometimes. Exhausting? Relative. Worth it? Absolutely.

I didn’t start here, I actually came from the world of corporate marketing with a foundation rooted in journalism. But deep down, I always knew I wanted more freedom, more creativity, and more impact. So I made the leap, and never looked back.

  • How do you honor your roots while still reaching for new heights?

I carry my culture with me wherever I go: through my language, my curls, my storytelling, and my perspective. My Dominican and Afro-Latina roots ground me, remind me of my strength, and fuel my mission to take up space in rooms that weren’t always built for us. I reach for new heights because of where I come from, not in spite of it.

  • Our Spring collection celebrates a season in bloom, but we know that growth often happens beneath the surface before it’s seen. What are some of the unseen efforts—the “seeds” you’ve planted—that are now starting to bloom?

Ohhh, I love this question! People see the highlight reel, but behind it are years of pitching myself, learning new platforms, editing into the early hours, and managing rejections with grace.

Lately, those late nights and bold asks are blooming into speaking gigs, partnerships, and community: things I once dreamed of.

  • There’s often a myth about “overnight success.” What has your experience been with the reality of watering & growing an idea and bringing it to life? How long did it take you to see the fruits of your labor with @travelelingwithjessica?

I’ve been building @travelingwithjessica for a few years, and during that first year, it often felt like I was creating into the void: trial, error, posting when no one was watching (except for my mom), and constantly wondering if it was even worth it.

It took consistency, intention, and a whole lot of patience before real momentum started to hit. Success is like a plant: you’ve got to water it regularly, shield it from the elements, and trust that one day it’ll bloom when the time is right.

  • Spring is all about renewal and new adventures - how do you approach travel as a form of personal growth and does any trip stand out as changing your perspective in an unexpected way?

Travel has been my mirror. It reflects who I am, who I’ve been, and who I’m becoming. Every trip stretches me in the best ways.

One standout moment? Going to India. It completely reshaped how I see connection, spirituality, and creativity. It wasn’t just a trip. For me, it felt like a homecoming to parts of myself I hadn’t met yet.

  • What does being ‘in bloom’ mean to you right now? Is there anything in your life you’re particularly looking forward to blossoming this Spring?

Being in bloom means unapologetically stepping into your season: owning your growth, your power, and your evolution. This Spring, I’m especially excited to dive deeper into YouTube, expand my speaking work, and continue building a community with creators who believe in showing up fully. It’s giving “soft launch the empire” energy, and I’m here for all of it.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone just starting out on their content creation and/or travel creator journey, what would it be?

Start before you’re ready, and stay consistent even when it’s crickets. You don’t need perfect gear or the most exotic location: what you do need is your voice, your story, and the courage to keep going even when it’s messy. That’s where the excitement lives.
