We made it through the arctic tundra that was NYC this week. As the wind and snow whipped past my face and I waddled to the studio wearing no less than three layers, I couldn’t help but dream of the sunny, warm days of spring. On Friday, we shot our Spring '25 collection (which I’m convinced will be my strongest yet!), and ugh—I ached to wear each piece and vibrant print right. now.
As we continue to power through this cold, I find it helpful to make a list of things I’m looking forward to. It gives me space to daydream, escape the cold reality of winter, and fill my calendar with little moments that keep me going.
Here’s what I’m looking forward to this spring:
- New growth on my Japanese maple tree :)
- Open-toed shoes
- My work trip to India to develop the Fall collection
- The Spring ’25 Launch Event & Runway Show!
- Not having to wear a heavy coat
- Later sunsets
- Spring date nights
- Free Tulip Day in the city!
- Sitting on my balcony
- Wearing bold prints & color
- Bustling farmers' markets
- My 30th birthday (!!!)
- Cherry blossoms at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden
- The Orchid Show at the NYBG
- Outdoor dining
- Hosting at home
This list helps me push through the doldrums of winter. Whether they’re big plans (my 30th birthday) or small shifts (wearing open-toed shoes), each moment brings joy and reminds me that something exciting is always just on the horizon. It also encourages me to make plans if I don’t have any yet, to find time to connect with friends, and to balance work with play. If you have 15 minutes to spare today, I invite you to create a list of your own.
After a period of deep work and long hours in the studio the last few months, I’m excited to shift with the seasons and move into a lighter period—both in spirit and style.
